Salt Lake City’s business and industrial base is constantly expanding with emphasis on light manufacturing, research, advanced technology, construction and energy development projects.  Delta Airlines has one of its main hubs at Salt Lake International Airport.  The University of Utah and Brigham Young University are large employers in the state.  The largest employer in Utah is Hill Air Force Base north of Salt Lake. There is a large concentration of software companies such as Novell, and biomedical software firms in the area. The Huntsman Cancer Institute, located by the University of Utah, performs extensive cancer research. Intermountain Healthcare is based in Salt Lake.  Utah is a popular locale for the movie industry.  The mining industry has long been a prominent force in this area.
